- “Oh, and the Feeling Fine badge'll just make you immune to bad statuses. Stati? Whatever.”
- —Battle Master, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Nintendo Switch)
Feeling Fine is a badge in Paper Mario and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. In Paper Mario, it can be bought from Merlow at Shooting Star Summit for five Star Pieces. In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, it can be found in the X-Naut Fortress, inside of a giant crane game that can only be used after returning the Cog to the crane. It can be sold for 150 coins. The badge's effect is applied exclusively to Mario. A variant of the badge called Feeling Fine P has the same effect, but is applied exclusively to Mario's partner.
Paper MarioEdit
When equipped, Mario becomes immune to the following negative status conditions:
The following positive status conditions will not be prevented, but will wear off after 1 turn:
Equipping the badge will not prevent the following status conditions:
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year DoorEdit
When equipped, Mario becomes immune to a variety of status conditions:[1]
- Positive
- Electrified (only in the original GameCube version)
- Negative
- Attack Down (unused, no attack inflicts Attack Down)
- Defense Down
- Confused
- Dizzy
- Immobilized
- Poisoned
- Sleepy
- Tiny
- Burned (only in the Nintendo Switch remake; the Ice Power badge also prevents burn in both versions)
- Frozen (only in the Nintendo Switch remake)
Equipping the badge will not prevent any other positive status conditions or the following negative ones:
In the GameCube version, Feeling Fine will prevent Mario from becoming Electrified from all sources with one exception. While items that grant Electrified like Volt Mushrooms will do nothing to a Feeling Fine Mario, the Zap Tap badge will continue to function and grant a permanent Electrified. The Lucky Start badge has a 25% chance to grant Electrified at the start of battle; if this happens with Feeling Fine equipped, then only the "LUCKY" battle text and sound will happen, and no status effect will be granted.
Merluvlee's predictions in Paper MarioEdit
- "I see...a Feeling Fine Badge. There is a child upstairs in the fortune-teller's house on Shooting Star Summit. Hey! I'm that fortune-teller! Anyway, the child is my brother, Merlow. He will trade Star Pieces for Badges. Head upstairs to see him!"
