A Drop Block.

Drop Blocks[1] are a type of block Wario encounters during the events of Wario World. They are mostly found in the red diamond sub-levels beneath wooden and steel trapdoors, always in mid-air, and resemble floating, steel-blue anvils. When Wario steps on one, his weight causes it to descend slightly, pause, and fall quickly. If Wario is on the Drop Block when it falls, he may be forced to start the level over, particularly if he is inside a Steel Trapdoor's sublevel, which has no ground. The Drop Block returns to its starting position if Wario steps off of it.
