Template:Level Lockjaw's Locker is the fourth level of Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Donkey Kong Land 2. It and is located within the Gangplank Galleon.

This is the first underwater level of the game, which takes place in the ship's flooded cargo hold. Similar to Coral Capers of the original Donkey Kong Country, the Kongs will discover Enguarde (at two separate points), as well as the aquatic foes, Flotsams, Lockjaws, and Shuris. Klomps also appear. Enguarde is incredibly useful throughout this level, as he is needed to enter a bonus area in Diddy Kong's Quest, and he can take out enemies.

Level Layout

Donkey Kong Country 2

The level will start out with Diddy and Dixie falling down into the ship. Once they reach the bottom, they must go go east across the crates and barrels. Right after the first two Kremlings, they must jump into the pool of water and simply swim across to the next crates piled up in the water. At that time, the water will rise, and the monkeys must swim up, then go east again. They must then swim around and find a small gap in the crates that they can swim into. If the Kongs go to the right place, they will find Enguarde, the swordfish and ride on him. On the giant fish, they can go east once again and defeat many Flotsams and a Lockjaw. At some point, the animals must travel north, followed by going west as the water slightly rises. They will very soon reach more crates, where there is a "No Enguarde" sign. When the monkeys pass this sign, Enguarde will disappear. Without their Animal Buddy, the Kongs must continue west in the water, where they will find a Star Barrel.

Halfway through the level, the Kongs will swim up, then back west, and avoid several enemies. Once the enemies are passed, the water will rise, an the monkeys must travel up between the crates and then swim east again. They will avoid a few Lockjaws here, until the water drains, and they are pulled down. The Kongs must travel on east, where they will find crates and barrels to walk on, along with the end of the level.

Donkey Kong Land 2

From the start, the Kongs must follow the trail of bananas, jump into the water, and swim down. They should make their way through the water by following more bananas, which are in the shape of an arrow, pointing to the direction to go. There are a bunch of Flotsams and a few Lockjaws, so the monkeys must be careful. Once the heroes avoid those enemies, they will find the exit of the water and be able to break open the Star Barrel.

From the halfway point, the animals need to go east across the few crates and large barrels, until they hop back into the water. They must swim down, where there are more bananas directing the Kongs in the correct direction. They must follow these formations of bananas through the liquid, while watching out for pests, such as Flotsams, Lockjaws, and Shuris. If these arrows are followed correctly, the heroes will quickly find their way out of the water. Once out of the liquid, they should go west along the luggage, where a spring is. It leads out of the level.

Bonus Levels

  • To get to the first and only Bonus Level, Diddy and Dixie must have Enguarde with them. Near the place where they find the swordfish, they should feel around the walls. There is a small crate that the Kongs can go through. Once up, there will be bananas in the shape of the letter A, as well as a crate sticking out out the side with a lone banana next to it. Using Enguarde's special move, they can break the crate open and enter the Bonus Level. Here, the Kongs and the fish will go through a small maze. At the end is the Kremkoin.

DK Coin

To find the DK Coin, the Kongs must travel near the end of the level, where the water drains. When this happens, the must keep swiming east and get on some crates and barrels. As they make their way across, the coin will be right in their path to get, around a line of bananas.

Golden Feather (GBA Only)

To find the Golden Feather, the Kongs must travel to the second "No Enguarde" sign, near the very end of the level. From the sign, they must travel west until they find themselves going through some crates. They then need to jump through one more crate and the feather should be right in the open space to get.

Camera Icon (GBA Only)

With Enguarde, the heroes must head up to the final No Animal Sign in the level. Without passing it, they should head left and swim through some barrels to find a Floatsam. If they defeat it, they will be given the level's Camera Icon. It can be used to give the monkeys another picture for their scrapbook.

Donkey Kong Land 2

Bonus Level(s)

  • This Bonus Level is different from most Bonus Levels, as it grants the heroes a shortcut through the level, and not a Kremkoin. After the start of the level, the Kongs must jump into the water and feel along the walls to the right. Eventually, they might go through a crate. They should continue into the luggage, going right, down, and then left, where there will be a small open space. There is a Bonus Barrel there. If the monkeys enter it, they will be teleported to the Bonus Level. Here, the Kongs are free to collect some bananas and leave, where they will end up at the end of the level.

DK Coin

Starting from the Star Barrel, the monkeys should go backwards (west) and jump into the water. They need to swim down, and then east at the dead end where the luggage is. The monkeys must continue east, until they find a Shuri against a wall. When it moves away, the animals should investigate the wall and move down a little more. They might go through a small crate. If the monkeys continue on in the tiny space, they will find the DK Coin.

Trivia

  • The name of the level may be a misnomer, as Lockjaws play no major role in it.
