This is a detailed list of updates that Super Mario Bros. Wonder has received since its launch on October 20, 2023. Versions are shared with the game's Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park. To play online, players generally must have downloaded the most recent software update.[1]

Ver. 1.0.1[edit]

Showcase of the sequence break glitch no longer working

An update was released on November 20, 2023. This update was first announced on November 20, 2023 at 01:24 UTC via the Nintendo Support Twitter account.[2]

This update fixes a sequence break glitch that allowed players to go out of bounds in the world map and skip half of Pipe-Rock Plateau, the entirety of Fluff-Puff Peaks, and all but Master Poplin's House in Shining Falls.

With this update, two additional names were added to the game's staff credits: David Potts in Testing and Berenice Hofsetz in NOA Localization Management. As a result of these additions, the maximum achievable credit score was increased from 435 to 437.

Finally, a version number is now shown on the upper-right corner of the title screen.

  • Selecting "Restart" or "Exit Course" will revert points to what they were before entering the course.
Staff Credits
  • Additions and adjustments have been made to staff names.

Several issues have been addressed to improve the gameplay experience.

Ver. 1.0.2[edit]

An update was released on June 3, 2025. This update is required to play the game on Nintendo Switch 2 (firmware 20.2.0 and later).

Ver. 1.1.0[edit]

An update was released on March 18, 2026. It fixes a visual glitch in the course Piranha Plants on Parade where a pipe can briefly be seen floating in the air.

The following updates have been made when playing the game on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch:
amiibo
  • amiibo can now be used. While in a course, select the "Scan amiibo" option from the pause menu to use one.
General
  • You will now be prompted to select a user from the HOME menu when starting the software.
  • Additional adjustments and fixes have been made to improve the gameplay experience.
The following updates have been made when playing the game on Nintendo Switch 2:
General
  • Added support for the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. Those who have purchased it may begin playing on March 26, 2026.
  • When starting Super Mario Bros. Wonder on Nintendo Switch 2, an entry for the Nintendo eShop now appears on the title screen menu. Selecting it will bring you to the upgrade pack page on the Nintendo eShop.
  • Added support for the Polish language.

Ver. 1.2.0[edit]

Ver. 1.2.1[edit]

An update was released on April 15, 2026. It fixes a visual glitch where Rosalina, who is playable in the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of the game, would have Peach's emblem on her parachute cap while using the Parachute Cap badge in Elephant form.
