He is a dark-brown parrot with red tail feathers and a white beak and talons. He is slightly larger than [[Squawks]]. Screech has big yellow eyes with two small pupils and has three claws on each talon. His wings are red at the tip. Screech's role is the same in both games, where he appears at the second half of his own level, [[Screech's Sprint]], where the [[Kong]]s must enter an [[Animal Barrel]] to transform into [[Squawks]] to race Screech, both of which compete to cross the finish line first. Screech is first encountered in ''[[Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest]]''. In the game, he is the only boss (not including [[Kaptain K. Rool]]) in the area [[The Flying Krock]], and the last obstacle between [[Diddy Kong|Diddy]], [[Dixie Kong|Dixie]], and K. Rool.
Squawks appears in two pieces of promotional artwork, including the game cover, where he fights Squawks using a baseball bat, and in a bramble area, where [[Diddy Kong|Diddy]] and [[Dixie Kong|Dixie]] are seen passing by him.


After some adventuring through the [[bramble]]-filled maze that is "[[Screech's Sprint]]", Diddy and Dixie find and use an [[Animal Barrel]], which transforms them into [[Squawks|Squawks the Parrot]]. Approaching the nearby Screech, the evil parrot challenges them to a race through the bramble maze.
Screech has his own theme music, "Bad Bird Rag," which plays during his race. In the [[Donkey Kong Country 2 (Game Boy Advance)|Game Boy Advance version]] of ''Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest'', Screech's theme music plays while [[Diddy Kong]] and [[Dixie Kong]] (transformed into [[Rambi]]) are being chased through the last stretch of the level [[Rambi Rumble]] by [[King Zing]].


Racing through a barrage of [[Zinger]]s, the Kongs-turned-parrot managed to pull ahead of Screech and pass the [[banana]] finish line.

Screech is a parrot enemy who appears in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Donkey Kong Land 2. He is a dark-brown parrot with red tail feathers and a white beak and talons. He is slightly larger than Squawks. Screech has big yellow eyes with two small pupils and has three claws on each talon. His wings are red at the tip. Screech's role is the same in both games, where he appears at the second half of his own level, Screech's Sprint, where the Kongs must enter an Animal Barrel to transform into Squawks to race Screech, both of which compete to cross the finish line first.
