The Time Bob-omb reappears in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions, where it serves the same function as the original game with one difference: the number of turns before it explodes gets lower with each fight. It explodes after nine turns when fighting Roy, seven turns when fighting Wendy, and five turns when fighting Larry. Roy also explains the Time Bob-omb to the Mario Bros. in the remake. Each Time Bob-omb also harmlessly explodes after the Koopalings are defeated, instead of retreating.
