Hidden ? Block location in Beanbean Castle, in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga.
Small Mario in an "empty" room with hidden blocks in Beanbean Castle (? Blocks have been added for demonstration purposes).
This article is about the hidden blocks in the original game. For the hidden blocks in the remake, see List of hidden blocks in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions.

In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, Mario and Luigi can discover hidden blocks containing elusive Hoo Beans throughout the Beanbean Kingdom. By jumping around at suspicious platforms or patterns, or in seemingly "empty" dead ends, the Mario Bros. can uncover invisible blocks containing single Hoo Beans. If the Bros. reveal a block, then leave the area without collecting the bean, however, it will become invisible again until they do so. There are 42 hidden blocks in the game. This page lists the location of each hidden block and how to get to them. While the invisible blocks in the remake remain invisible, unlike the similarly invisible beanholes, it does introduce a new Starbeans Cafe reward called the Secret Specs, which allows the user to see the invisible blocks in the form of a white outline. The Mushroom Kingdom, Koopa Cruiser, Stardust Fields, Hoohoo Village, Hoohoo Mountain, Hoohoo Mountain Base, Beanbean Castle Sewers, Chateau de Chucklehuck, Beanbean International Airport, Guffawha Ruins and S.S. Chuckola do not have any hidden blocks at all.

Hidden Block locations[edit]

Location Description Image Image (Blocks revealed)
Beanbean Castle From Beanbean Castle Gate, the Mario Bros. should head west into the next screen with the building housing Warp Pipe #3. Luigi should hammer Mario from behind to make him small. As Small Mario, he should jump into the hole leading the next maze-like area. In the hedge maze, Mario should then go all the way east into a corner, then move north and follow the path until he approaches three paths going north. By taking the immediate path, Mario should continue the path until he reaches another passageway into the castle itself. In this dead end room are five hidden blocks: two close to the wall and three to the front. Jumping at the dark green tiles will reveal them. Hidden ? Beanbean Castle Town In the western area of Beanbean Castle Town, the Mario Bros. should enter the house in the southeast. There are three hidden blocks that can be revealed by jumping at the northwest, southwest and northeastern corners of the rug where a normal ? Block is. Woohoo Hooniversity In the northeastern area of the first starry room, on the low platform, the Mario Bros. should jump in the spot directly southwest of the small lone star to reveal the hidden block. MLSSHiddenBlocks9.png MLSSHiddenBlocks9R.png
Woohoo Hooniversity In the Generator Service Room, Luigi should hammer Mario from behind to make him small. As Small Mario, he should go through the hole in the southwest and climb up the steps then continue all the way north on a path that encompasses the entire room until he reaches the small red arrow leading him to the next area. Down the steps to the lowest ground in the seemingly "empty" room are four hidden blocks. Starting from the second cross pattern from the central-most pattern in the south, Small Mario should jump at the latter, then at the patterns east, north and west of the former to reveal the blocks. MLSSHiddenBlocks10.png MLSSHiddenBlocks10R.png
Woohoo Hooniversity In the first room past the third shutter, from the first starry area, is a lone platform in the southwest. Jumping at the center of the spot will uncover another hidden block. MLSSHiddenBlocks11.png MLSSHiddenBlocks11R.png

There, the Bros. should Spin Jump west to the next mushrooms until they reach the final one. Jumping at the center of this mushroom will reveal the hidden block. MLSSHiddenBlocks13.png MLSSHiddenBlocks13R.png
Little Fungitown In the area one screen north and one screen west from the platform to Teehee Valley, the Mario Bros. should encounter a set of stairs in the west. Going up these stairs to the highest point, the Bros. should then Spin Jump across to the yellow mushroom, then again to another one and continue to move east past the bridge to the next area. There, the Bros. should jump at the center of the pink mushroom to reveal another hidden block. MLSSHiddenBlocks14.png MLSSHiddenBlocks14R.png
Teehee Valley As Luigi, from the platform to Little Fungitown, he should head south one screen and immediately to the west to find an elevator that will rise with only one person on it. Taking the elevator and going west, Luigi should continue along the path until he finds a breakable gray block. After shattering it, he should then head east and follow the path until he reaches a dead end. Jumping around there will reveal the hidden block.

Alternatively, with both brothers, the player should enter Teehee Valley from the Hoohoo Mountain Base. In the first area, the Bros. should High Jump over the platform, and continue east into the next area. There the Bros. should head east, then work their way north and west through the canyons to the next area. In the same area where Luigi shattered the first boulder, the Bros. should take the eastern path and follow it to the dead end.

Mario should enter the whirlpool to reach the otherwise inaccessible, northernmost part of the Seabed. In this area are four hidden blocks. To reveal them, going counter-clockwise, the Mario Bros. should swim above the crack on the southeast, then directly above the small pebble northwest of it, then above the spot on the opposite side of the pebble, then finally above the spot directly south of the small rock. MLSSHiddenBlocks18.png MLSSHiddenBlocks18R.png
Joke's End In the area with the first Joke's Soup Broth, the Mario Bros. should go through the northeast doorway into the next area. The Bros. should High Jump up the high platform in the southwest, then jump at the center to reveal the hidden block. MLSSHiddenBlocks23.png MLSSHiddenBlocks23R.png
Joke's End On the fifth floor, the Mario Bros. should climb up the steps to the high ground, then continue east until they find a low elevated platform near the eastern edge. Jumping at the center of it will uncover the hidden block. MLSSHiddenBlocks24.png MLSSHiddenBlocks24R.png
Bowser's Castle In the second area from the castle's entrance, past the first red door to Iggy's room is a lone platform with a Gunner Guy on it. After defeating Iggy, a bridge will form, providing access to it. After defeating the Gunner Guy, the Mario Bros. should jump at the spot where it once was to reveal the hidden block.
