Firebrand and Thunderhand

From the Super Mario Wiki, the Mario encyclopedia
This article is about the beings that inhabit the Fire Palace and Thunder Palace in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. For the Hand Powers of the same name, see Firebrand or Thunderhand.
Firebrand on the left, Thunderhand on the right in both versions.

Firebrand and Thunderhand are two beings (described as genies[1] or guardian spirits[2]) that appear in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and its remake, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions. They inhabit the Fire and Thunder Palaces, and are the masters of two respective types of Hand Power: the Firebrand and the Thunderhand. Firebrand teaches Mario the former technique, while Thunderhand teaches Luigi the latter technique.

Both Firebrand and Thunderhand wear white cloaks and are capable of floating in the air; they always appear in a flash of fire and thunder respectively. Firebrand's head is styled after a sun, while Thunderhand's head is shaped like a crescent. Firebrand is forgetful and easygoing, in contrast with Thunderhand's no-nonsense attitude.
