Shochō is the Kinoko Police chief that appears in chapter 2 of the Super Mario Bros. 4: Super Mario World 6 of the Super Mario Kodansha manga. He is a Toad with a mustache, round glasses, and a police uniform. His mushroom cap is also part of his police hat. He is quite attempting but he is also impulsive.

He receives from Bowser a ransom tape, with instruction to give it to Mario. Once Mario watches the tape, revealing tha Bowser has kidnapped Peach and is ready to humiliate Mario in a low-budget show paiting him as a bad guy, Mario receives a call from Bowser. Luigi gets ready to triangulate the origin of the call, but just then, Shochō notices that Bowser left the return address on the package. In a matter of minutes, the entire Kinoko Police force is surrounding Bowser's hideout. Shochō is seen ordering the snipers and then guides the a raid after Mario's initial plans are thwarted.
