“Oh, it was awful master. Those horrible Kongs threw nasty barrels at me that went bang. Knocked me into the lava, they did. And I;ve singed bith my wings.”
Dogadon, Donkey Kong 64

Dogadon is a giant dragonfly (in this case, a dragon with insect-like wings) that is a boss in Donkey Kong 64. Dogadon is first encountered in the area Angry Aztec. Diddy Kong feeds 120 bananas to Scoff and Troff to open the boss door. Inside, a brief cutscene of Diddy being pestered by a dragonfly is shown. Afterward, Diddy stomps on the dragonfly and squashes it flat. Following this, Dogadon emerges from the lava, none too pleased with Diddy's act of insecticide.

Dogadon begins by flying around the room spitting fireballs at him. After Diddy manages to avoid these, Dogadon will land to rest on the stone platform. Diddy can now attack by throwing a TNT Barrel at him. This will knock Dogadon into the sea of lava around the platform.

Dogadon will burst out of the lava and start firing fireballs again, though he will fire more and at a faster rate. When Dogadon lands to rest, Diddy must hit him with another TNT Barrel. Once again, Dogadon will fall into the lava and fly out of it one more time. After Diddy strikes Dogadon with another TNT Barrel a third time, he will fall into the lava again, this time not coming out. Diddy has now earned himself the boss key Dogadon was guarding.

Dogadon returns later in the game as the boss of Fungi Forest. Chunky, after feeding Scoff and Troff 300 bananas from any Kongs, enters the Fungi Forest boss door and fearfully looks around. Suddenly, Dogadon appears in front of Chunky. Horrified at the monster he has to fight, Chunky begins to bow to and ask for mercy from Dogadon. This ploy fails.

The first phase of Chunky's battle with Dogadon is basically the same as Diddy's. Chunky must dodge blasts of fire spat at him by Dogadon and hit the dragon with TNT Barrels when he lands to rest. The second time, he will also make a shock wave (which Chunky can jump over), but that attack can be stopped before it's even executed. After being hit two times with TNT Barrels, Dogadon will show off a new ability; he will send a wave of fire at Chunky. The only way to avoid the Fire Wall is to hang on the ledge. After this attack, Chunky must grab the TNT Barrel in the middle of the stone platform and throw it at Dogadon.

Suffice to say Dogadon is now not very pleased.

Returning to the stone platform, Dogadon will angrily begin to stomp on it, causing it to start sinking. Now the battle has turned into a race against time. Dogadon will begin to fly around the arena spewing fireballs at Chunky once again, and once again Chunky must throw a TNT Barrel at Dogadon when he lands to rest. This time though, instead of Dogadon falling into the lava, a Hunky Chunky Barrel will appear where the TNT Barrel was. Chunky has to hop into this barrel and will transform into Hunky Chunky.

Now, Chunky can pummel him with his bare-fists, at least until the effects of the transformation into Hunky Chunky wear off. After this, Chunky must repeat the process of hitting Dogadon with TNT Barrels, changing into Hunky Chunky and pummeling Dogadon until he is defeated. After Dogadon is defeated, he will relinquish his second boss key. If the player takes too long to defeat Dogadon though, the stone platform will vanish, causing Chunky to fall into the lava; if that happens, the player has to restart the battle all over again.

In a later cut scene in the game, King K. Rool can be seen speaking with Dogadon. After explaining that he lost to Chunky (and almost bursting into tears while doing so), Dogadon says he is going to lie down. It is not elaborated on whatever happened to Dogadon after K. Rool was defeated. However, Dogadon is seen in the secret ending, where he scares Diddy but ends up getting scared by a small yellow Gnawty.
