“Don't you know when to quit?! I'm gonna enjoy taking you out from the cozy confines of my robot cockpit! So you want a Grand Star Grand Star, do ya? Well, come on, tough guy! Let's see if you're any match for Megahammer!”
Bowser Jr., Super Mario Galaxy 2

Megahammer is a boss in Bowser Jr.'s Fearsome Fleet in Super Mario Galaxy 2. It is a giant robot operated by Bowser Jr. with large hammers for hands, and it vaguely resembles a Koopa Clown Car. The head of the robot is actually Bowser Jr.'s robot cockpit, which attached to the body prior to the battle. Megahammer was originally going to be called Mallettoid, but this was changed in the final version of the game.[1]

Megahammer attacks by launching Bullet Bills and Banzai Bills. It also attempts to smash the player with its hammers if the player is in front of it, or sends out a shockwave if the player is behind it. The hammers also send out shockwaves. The yellow-and-black striped blocks on Megahammer's arena break off when attacked by Megahammer. If one of Megahammer's hammers or a Bullet Bill hits these blocks, they fall off, creating a gap Mario or Luigi has to jump over. The yellow-and-black striped blocks are unaffected by Megahammer's shockwaves because the shockwaves are in the air and not on the ground. To defeat Megahammer, the player must use Yoshi to catch the incoming Bullet Bills with his tongue and spit them back at the robot's three blue orbs, two of which reside on its chest, while the last is found on its back. The player can use the Sling Star to get to the other side faster instead of walking around Megahammer. Once all three blue orbs have been destroyed, the metal plate covering the windshield of the robot cockpit head disappears. When Megahammer slams down its hammers, the player must use a Bullet Bill to hit Bowser Jr.'s cockpit. A successful hit cracks the glass. Another successful hit shatters it, and Megahammer explodes, causing Bowser Jr. to flee.

Megahammer is fought twice, with the second fight being under the Daredevil Comet conditions.

Later in the game, Megahammer can be seen in Bowser Jr.'s Boom Bunker, broken. The chimney on Megahammer's cockpit has fire coming out, and if Mario attempts to jump into the chimney, he is burned and receives damage. The Toad Brigade is seen when Mario is first in the galaxy, hiding behind an arm. However, Megahammer is shown to still be partially functional, as Bullet Bills still shoot out of it, and its eyes blink from black to red.

In the Super Mario Mash-Up Pack in Minecraft, Iron Golems are reskinned to look like Megahammer.
