- —Wisdurm, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story
Wisdurm is a boss that appears in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story and its 3DS remake, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey. She is one of the three Star Sages and the guardian of the first Star Cure. Wisdurm's name comes from "wisdom" and "Durmite", which is still used as the attack target name when Wisdurm is in her small form in battle. She is misnamed in the Prima Strategy Guide's enemy list as "Wise Pillbo".[page number needed]
A stronger variant of Wisdurm, known as Wisdurm X, appears in the Gauntlet. Wisdurm is the only Star Sage to be fought as an actual boss; while Chakron is also faced in battle for his Star Cure, he is "fought" with the express purpose of breaking him out of his immobile state.
History
Wisdurm initially appears to Mario and Luigi as Durmite, attacking the Bros. within Bowser's body shortly after Bowser ate the giga-carrot she had resided in. After Mario and Luigi defeat her, she shrinks into a much smaller form and runs away. Later, Mario, Luigi and Starlow find their way out of Bowser's body, and eventually make their way to Dr. Toadley in Toad Town. Bowser appears to challenge the Bros. and claim the Dark Star and Peach's Castle for himself, but is defeated.
Dr. Toadley then tells them of the three Star Cures, which are the key to potentially curing the Blorbs; he hints that the Cures may also possibly counter the Dark Star's powers, which have created a barrier preventing access to Peach's Castle. The Cures are guarded by three Star Sages; Dr. Toadley reveals the first sage's identity to be none other than Durmite, located in Dimble Wood. Bowser overhears this and makes a beeline for the forest, and Starlow and the Mario Bros. follow him upon realizing she is still in Bowser's body. The group manages to find a pipe in Toad Town that takes them back to the Pipe Yard within Bowser; upon arriving, the Bros. immediately spot Durmite and try to sneak up on her, but the attempt fails as Durmite escapes into the blocked-off Energy Hold.
Meanwhile, Bowser makes his way to Dimble Wood, coming across the hidden Tower of Yikk and defeating it in a Giant Bowser battle; he gains entry to the tower, and finds Yikk within a book at the top. Yikk shows Bowser how to operate one of his inventions, the Boo-ray Machine; the machine's light removes the barrier within the Energy Hold. Starlow, Mario and Luigi use the light from the Boo-ray machine to navigate through the Energy Hold; they find Durmite again, just as it escapes through a door under a star-shaped gate. Once Mario and Luigi obtain all the pieces of the Star Panel needed to unlock the door, they catch up to Durmite again; Luigi sneaks up on the Star Sage and tries to catch them with his hat, only for Durmite to get free by burrowing under him and Mario. After a few failed attempts, Durmite eventually manages to escape again, spraying gas in Luigi's face as she does.
After the Mario Bros. pursue Durmite far enough, she finally loses patience and yells at the Mario Bros., annoyed by their persistence. Luigi explains their situation, and while Wisdurm expresses sympathy, she also remains skeptical of the Bros. Revealing her true name to be Wisdurm, she questions why she should give the Star Cure to such "men who lack any credibility". Luigi tries to reason with her further, but Wisdurm's stubbornness quickly frustrates him, much to her amusement. Mario then gets her to agree to a battle for ownership of the Star Cure.
When the Mario Bros. emerge victorious, Wisdurm acknowledges defeat and assumes her true form, which appears more humanoid with pink-and-yellow butterfly wings. Wisdurm then explains that the Sages were awaiting the arrival of heroes on the day of the Dark Star's awakening; when Starlow asks for her help in stopping the Dark Star, she keeps her promise and gives the group her Star Cure. Wisdurm then declares her "role" in events at an end, using her magic to clear two towers of debris blocking a doorway. Before disappearing through it, she asks them to stop following her around, and then wishes them luck in finding the other Star Cures. After this, Mario and Luigi gain access to the Joint Tower.
Battle
Wisdurm starts the battle small, but a gauge above her fills as she takes damage. When the gauge is filled, she transforms into her larger, more powerful form. The Mario Bros. can attack the Magical Rod to empty the gauge faster. After the Magical Rod takes enough damage, Wisdurm shrinks down to regular size.
In battle, Wisdurm has the following attacks:
- Giant Heart - Wisdurm shoots a giant heart in the air which quickly flashes a picture of one of the brothers and then lands on them. The heart must be hammered multiple times before it breaks and the attack stops.
- Star Beam - Wisdurm shoots a beam of stars between the bros. which starts to move towards either one of them. This can be avoided by jumping over the beam. Occasionally Wisdurm swaps the places of both Bros. during the attack.
- Shrink - Wisdurm shrinks one of the bros. and starts chasing him. This attack can be countered by hammering Wisdurm 3 times. However waiting too long or taking too long to hammer causes Wisdurm to trample the Bro. In Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey, Wisdurm must be hammered 6 times to cancel the attack.
- String Swing - Wisdurm can only use this attack while small. This involves shooting a string beam to the ceiling and repeatedly swinging into one of the bros. until it is countered with the hammer or the attack does zero damage.
Later in the game, Mario & Luigi can fight a stronger version of Wisdurm called Wisdurm X.

Trivia
- Wisdurm's true name can actually first be seen in one of the Save Block entries before she formally introduces herself. When the player saves right after facing Bowser in the Toadley Clinic, the entry mentions that the bros. must "find Wisdurm in Bowser's body". Before this, her name was never mentioned. This is not the case in the remake.
