Template:Location-infobox Lake Lapcat is an archipelago and dimension dedicated to cats found in Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, more precisely in Bowser's Fury. It is the kingdom where the whole standalone story takes place. It is an open-world, colorful and cat-themed kingdom mainly inhabited by various colored cats. Because of its theming around cats, nearly all of its elements, including trees, shrubs, flowers, and even the signs, are modified to include feline features.

Lake Lapcat has a grayish blue main color scheme, similar to the Lake Kingdom from Super Mario Odyssey. These colors are also used by many of the area's walls, pillars, and windows. On some walls and ledges, cat-based hieroglyphs can be spotted.

Lake Lapcat is home to a unique power-up, the Giga Bell, which sits on a pedestal.

While Fury Bowser is active, the sky becomes dark and the kingdom rainy, along with having some spike-shaped platforms plunged into the ground and walls. These platforms modify the terrain, and Mario is able to jump on them, sometimes even able to reach higher places.

Islands

Lake Lapcat is split into multiple different islands. Every island contains a lighthouse that is covered in goop. By collecting the first Cat Shine of the island, the goop will be removed and the lighthouse's light will get rid of the goop nearby.[1] Every island contains five Cat Shines that can be collected, one of which is collected by finding the five Cat Shine Shards around the island. Every few islands surround a Giga Bell that can be freed by collecting five Cat Shines.

  • Bounce and Trounce in the Clouds[7]
  • Toad Brigade: Lost Leader:[8] Can only be obtained after the story is completed. Near the gate to Scamper Shores, Captain Toad can be seen being chased by a bunch of Cat Biddybuds. Once all of them are defeated, Captain Toad will award the Cat Shine.

Collectibles

A Cat Shine

Lake Lapcat features Cat Shines, collectibles that are scattered across all the kingdom, similar to Power Stars, Shine Sprites and Power Moons. These shines are used to awaken the Giga Bell's power, in sufficient quantities. The associated lighthouses on each island are cleansed of goop once a Cat Shine is collected. Five Cat Shine Shards also appear per island, which give a Cat Shine once they are all collected. Coins also appear throughout Lake Lapcat.
