Variant of	Hammer Bro

The Yo Bro is a Hammer Bro variant that appears in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and its remake, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions. It is encountered at Woohoo Hooniversity, where it only appears in battle alongside other enemies such as Laser Snifits. Its name and appearance reference hip-hop culture, with "yo" and "bro" being commonly-used slang; the name is also a portmanteau on "yo-yo" and Hammer Bro. It sports a fez with a small bean sprout on the front, a medallion on its neck, and two yo-yos based on Koopa Shells, one red and one green.

BattleEdit

The Yo Bro will spin one of its colored yo-yos to indicate whether it attacks Mario or Luigi; the yo-yo will audibly whir before it strikes. It may also charge-up, which lets it deal more damage and also feint attacks, which is indicated when the "spinning" sound is not heard. Like many other Koopa-like enemies in the game, Yo Bros. are healed by fire, though they are weak to thunder.

In the Japanese version, Yo Bros. had a chance to drop Shroom Bells upon defeat; the remake makes this possible in all versions. Additionally, Yo Bros. may cross their arms in their idle animation.
