Its name is a pun on the term "first step". The island is a long strip of grassy land that contains a shipwrecked Airship, and is where Mario first comes into contact with Fury Bowser. Though it is the first location of the game, only the first Cat Shine can be collected. The other four Cat Shines and the Cat Shine Shards can only be collected after beating the main story. Toadette also appears near the Airship after the story has been completed and asks Mario to look for the members of the Toad Brigade.
Cat Shines
- Make the Lighthouse Shine: Obtained by Fury Bowser destroying a barrage of Fury Blocks leading to a short set of stairs. This is the first Cat Shine the player will collect, and the only one the player can get on their first visit.
- Junior's Graffiti Gratitude: Obtained by Bowser Jr. painting a picture on the Airship to reveal the Cat Shine.
- Fury Shadow on Deck: Mario must confront the Fury Shadow by chasing it and hitting it thrice.
- Five Cat Shine Shards: Obtained by collecting the five Cat Shine Shards laying around the shipwreck area.
- Blast the Fury Blocks: Fury Bowser must use his attacks to break open the Fury Blocks behind the Airship revealing a Cat Shine.
Cat Shine Shards
- Sat on top of the tallest cat shaped rocky mountain.
- On top of the broken mast on the Airship.
- In a tiny alcove along the side of the Airship at water level.
- On top of the Bowser Shaped heading of the Airship.
- On top a Cat Goomba Tower near the lighthouse.
