DK Artist
- This article is about the side mode. For the musical theme, see DK Artist (theme).
DK Artist, also known as Donkey Kong Artist,[1] is a side mode in Donkey Kong Bananza. It allows players to create and modify 3D models using various materials found in the main story mode. It can be controlled with the Joy-Con 2's mouse controls, though button controls can also be used.
Gameplay[edit]
If the player selects right-handed controls, they first start the mode with a large chunk of stone, which is carved into the shape of Donkey Kong's head with . After that, holding the
button will change the sculpture shape. The sculpture shapes are Donkey Kong's head, a three-banana Banandium Gem, an apple, a Fractone (unlocked after reaching the Canyon Layer), Void Kong's head (unlocked after reaching the Junction), Diddy Kong (unlocked after reaching the Racing Layer), and a bust of King K. Rool (unlocked after reaching the Planet Core). Pressing
with the cursor over the stone will paint the stone with the currently selected material, remove material, or add more stone to the model depending on the cursor mode selected with
. While the "paint" cursor mode is selected, the selected material can be cycled through with
. Background effects and the lighting of the model can also be changed. The controls are inverted if the player selects left-handed controls.
