Scuttle is one of Luigi's moves in Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2, Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario 64 DS, New Super Luigi U (where Yellow Toad, Blue Toad, Nabbit, and Miis can also use this move), and Super Mario 3D World. It is similar to Yoshi's Flutter Jump, except that it does not propel Luigi up. Instead, Scuttle will slow Luigi's descent after jumping. This will allow Luigi to reach greater horizontal distances and allows the player to easily control the landing. The animation for the move is Luigi kicking his feet in the air, which is also similar to Mario or Luigi's fall under the influence of a Super Leaf. This move can be used in Super Mario 64 DS to reach the castle roof before all 150 Power Stars are collected. In its New Super Luigi U appearance, the Scuttle move stops Luigi in mid-air, enabling him to move horizontally at a higher altitude. In Super Mario 3D World, Luigi kicks his legs during the entire jump, as opposed to kicking them as he descends (reminiscent of its appearance in Super Mario Bros. 2); this reduces his speed both upwards and downwards, making both halves of his jump easier to control. Also, Tanooki Princess Peach can pull off her unique glide, but also scuttle afterward to gain even more horizontal distance.

In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, Luigi is shown to have a different jumping animation with Scuttles in his jumps, as opposed to his jumps in previous games in the Super Smash Bros. series in which they were similar to Mario's. Template:BoxTop
