Diddy and Dixie can defeat Klingers by throwing objects at them, including [[barrel]]s, [[kannonball]]s, and [[crate]]s, or even by using their [[team up]] ability to throw the second Kong at them. This causes the affected Klingers to fall off the rope. Like most other enemies, if Diddy or Dixie touch a Klinger, the player loses that [[Kong]].

Klingers are enemies introduced in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. They are Kremlings that can climb up and down ropes and chains. Klingers are orange-skinned, yellow-bellied Kremlings with a long, scaly tail. They wear a green, white-spotted head bandana and a matching loincloth around the waist. Klingers (aside from Klobbers) are among the few Kremlings to have ears, in which they have a hoop earring for each one. Klingers have clawed toes but their fingers do not. Their artwork also depicts them having a large dagger in their mouth, though it does not appear in-game. Klingers do not have an instinctive climbing ability, but were instead trained specifically to achieve this ability.[1]

History[edit]

Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest[edit]

Klingers are enemies in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. They are first encountered in Mainbrace Mayhem. Klingers repeatedly climb up a rope or another object, such as a chain, before sliding down, usually making it harder for Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong to get across the ropes. A Klinger can be defeated by any attack. The affected Klinger falls off the rope when defeated. Like most other enemies, if Diddy or Dixie touch a Klinger, the player loses that Kong. In Krockhead Klamber, the Klingers are climbing on cattails. Later on, Klingers noticeably appear as in Chain Link Chamber as the main enemies encountered. In the ending credits, Klingers are classified under "Kremling Kuthroats" along with the other Kremlings.

Donkey Kong Land 2[edit]

Klingers are enemies in Donkey Kong Land 2. They are first encountered in Mainbrace Mayhem. A Klinger can be defeated if Diddy or Dixie move horizontally into it while on intersecting ropes. In the end credits, Klingers, along with the other enemies and bosses, are all classified as part of "The Baddies."

Donkey Konga 2[edit]

An artwork of Klinger is among the graphics that can appear onscreen in Freestyle Zone as the player hits the DK Bongos, in Donkey Konga 2.
