All-Terrain Vehicles, shortened as ATVs (known as Quads outside North America) are vehicles used mainly in Mario Kart 8, alongside karts and bikes. They are four-wheelers of many different colors and have features that differ from karts and bikes. They are set to make their debut in Mario Kart 8.

The basic model of the ATV for all characters is the Standard ATV, a motocross four-wheeler showing the emblem of the character over the plate of the front and the sides of the rear. The color of a Standard ATV also changes, matching the character's custom color.

All ATVs differ from karts and bikes in many ways. While driving an ATV, characters are able to perform wheelies if they use a speed boost, which is an aesthetic effect only.
