Italics reminder and other newbie questions

Hey, I wanna thank you for your help in making my edits more uniform to the site and everything. I'm relatively new to editing stuff here so I still have some questions. First of all, I want to know if I'm allowed to remove the reminder on my talk page about italicizing game titles. Second, I wanna know if there's any way I can improve. I've noticed that after I contribute something, you're usually quick to go through and rework my addition to better fit the style of the wiki as a whole. Single image category deletions?

I'm fairly certain deleting image categories for not having enough members is against policy. This proposal on the topic prompted a clarification on them. Even one image is fine because moving up the tree creates a hodgepodge of images at the bottom of the higher up category. Little Sitcker Star Question.

So, I have made preparations for the items for Sticker Star, and played a little already. But after a while, a thought came: Is it necessary to do EVERY sticker found on walls, ground and objects? I just went to Surfshine Harbor and there were three sets of stickers, so that's 15 images just for the stickers. Should I just do images for Scraps, Things, Coins and Hearts? I was told that we usually split them up after they have reached 150,000 bytes or above. I think its fair to see the former is intentionally referring to the latter given the Kuri/Goom in the former's name is shared with KURIbo/GOOMba. Dead links

The reason I'm removing dead links immediately, is because they're useless anyway. Having a dead link is just as useless as having no link at all, and that's why it's better to remove them, instead of letting them stay. Because if it's from an official Nintendo site, we know Nintendo deleted it for a reason and will never bring the source back. Just imagine a dead link stays there for a decade, even though we know a dead link will never get resurrected by Nintendo ever again. To avoid that, the best option is to just remove them. Charge Jump

Hey! ive made a new version of the Charge Jump article that's a lot more proper, but I don't know if I'm allowed to post it... here's the article:

The Charge Jump is a new technique introduced in Mario Kart World. By holding down the R or ZR buttons while driving straight, the player can charge up a Charge Jump in a similar way to a Drift (albeit without turning). After the sparks appear, the button can then be released to initiate a Charge Jump in a similar fashion to a Trick. Once the Charge Jump has been performed, the player can then also Trick off of objects as well as land on walls and rails. Charge Jumps can also be performed while driving on rails and walls. on walls specifically, Charge Jumps launch you off the wall and onto the nearest wall or back onto the track.

I noticed that the page for Yellow Toad and Blue Toad says that it is debatable whether or not the Yellow and Blue Toads found in this game the characters themselves. I’ve been looking for higher quality versions of the Mario Tennis: Power Tour artwork for characters like Alex and Harry. I did find some high quality art, but I’m unsure if this official or not. On one hand, the artwork seems to be from a website known for documenting these types of wallpapers, but said website also allows for fan-made wallpaper. On the other, the wallpapers in question don’t seem to use unofficial artwork (unless you count the backgrounds).

I'm well aware that we already have a page for that song, and in fact I linked to it on the page I created. However, in a similar manner to the Green Greens page, I created a new page because it's not entirely the Ground BGM theme. It's a composition that also incorporates the Grass Land map theme. Mario Kart course aritcle names

Since your an admin I thought I'd ask you about coming up with a solution for Mario Kart course pages, because I feel the current system isn't working well. I pointed out on the talk page for Koopa Troopa Beach (Super Mario Kart) something another user pointed out, the article name is too confusing for somebody who may not be super familiar with Mario Kart. If I were a casual fan, I would think that Koopa Troopa Beach (Super Mario Kart) was refering to Koopa Beach 1. I know the wiki just held a proposal to remove course prefixes (which I would have voted against if I knew there was a proposal on it), but that makes naming this article, as well as any courses that share names like GCN Bowser's Castle and Wii Bowser's Castle feel too complicated. Should we just change Koopa Beach 2's page name, or change others? Should we use the orginal name for Mario Kart tracks? The wiki rule about using the newest name for something really complicates this. I can't really think of a good solution without using the prefixes, so I thought I'd ask. Color Splash Problem and Questions.

So, as you can see, I'm back at it after taking a break (lot of games came out, so I played those). I am nearing the end of Color Splash and I noticed a problem: I think since I'm playing on emulator (more fun and also more useful for these lists), the graphics are not identical as on the console and, for most of the game, it is not a big deal, but for two places, I found out I can't make accurate screenshots due to this problem and that is:

1. In Marmalade Valley, in the first cave scene, there are white sheets and things behind them. It's suppossed to have shadows to indicate that something is there, but I don't have any. This way, I found out the middle one of the 3 Blocks found there is actually a hidden one (which makes the start of this area in the Block list have wrong amount of blocks) (also there are two more hidden ones I found that are not included in the list, they are in front of the sheets but due too no shadows, still not accurate). There are also 3 floating Coins, same problem here. Plus the Toad hiding behind the sheet in the second outside scene of the area, since he give out a Card.

2. In Black Bowser's Castle, after blowing up the Mega Bob-Ombs, the factory is flooded with black paint. I don't have any paint there, only the screen gets darker. It would not be a problem, but since there are crates on the way, containing some Battle Cards, I kinda need the paint to be visible to make accurate screenshots.

I also have some questions, but I can ask them later, since this is more important.

The only solution I came up with is that I ask someone who is also playing Color Splash right now to make those. More specifically, Colorless Spots 10-16 in Marmalade Valley, the Coins, the two ? Blocks (which would also act as the non-revealed image for the hidden block), the Hidden Block behind the sheet, two Hidden Blocks in front of the sheet (not revealed and revealed), the Toad behind the sheet after giving the card AND the images for the crates in the first flooded room in Black Bowser's Castle (then again, I suppose I could try do those by print screening a playthrough on Youtube).

So, I finished playing and now have some questions:

1. During gameplay, I made images of hearts found in the fountain after getting first 5 Big Paint Stars. Should I include all five images or just the one with 5 Hearts.

2. Same deal with the Piper's Sidequest tree in Yellow District - -By hitting the pot/tree, Coins are dropped, should I include all images, with each representing the number of Coins (how many and when will be explained in description), or just the last with the fully grown tree?

3. Regarding the drops from Colorless Spots, I have been documenting what have fallen from each one. But I noticed that you can get different amounts of Coins from the same spot (either if the game crashes or you will leave it by yourself or Shy Bandit sucked out the paint). Should I just add the things I documented or you have a better idea?

Hi, so I was busy and couldn't finish work on PMCS, now I am mostly done on my part (I still need 3 pictures from BB'sC), then FINALLY putting in it into the location pages. I just have a few more questions, due to my further research:

1. Unrelated to Colorless Spots, when I was looking at Pi'illo page and it's locations, I remember putting if the specific Pi'illo is optional or required to collect. Should we do this for all list pages? More specifically, only those where some are optional and some required? Like for example, I would not put it in Item Patch page, since they're fully optional or the Bean Fruit page since they're fully required. Also, how many blocks/hole/etc. have to be required for me to qualify it for this, since for example PM64 has only 2 ? Blocks which are required to be struck, so I wouldn't do it for that page (only put their necessity in the description of that specific block).

2. Further research on the Colorless Spots showed this:

Coins - Show up almost in the all spots, but their amount is random.

Hearts - Show up only when Mario has low HP.

Globs of Paint - Show up in a very small amount of spots and their amount in said spot is also random.

Battle Cards - They show up in, I would say, half of the spots and they have fixed drops (aside from few).

So I was thinking, I would put information about Coins, Hearts and Globs of Paint into the page description, while putting the Coins+Globs of Paint (without their specific amount) and Battle Cards into the tables of the page as a new collumn. There would be also some that would say they have no drops and why (on Toad or being required to progress). Plus the necessity if you allow it from the POINT 1.

3. I also noticed there are 19 places where you can/have to use the paint BUT they're not colorless spots (Toad at Toad Shuffle at Bloo Bay Beach to catch them cheating, 6 Toad Ghosts and Yoshi at Dark Bloo Inn, 11 platforms that lead out of the stage and under the ? Block found in the air outside of the stage and Peach in the BB'sC). There is also the fact you most likely have to use paint in the paralell lighthouse of Lighthouse Island to know which way to go, since it's pitch black in there (but that seem like overkill, maybe just one pic at the start of the of the lighthouse and then to explain in the description). I was thinking making a small separate section at the end of the Colorless Spot page, mainly for completion sake.

If any of these will be aproved, I would start working on it right away, hopefully ending at the same time my source is able to send me those pics. Then I would move on onto PMTOK. Thank you in advance, regardless of what you choose.--Mid188 (talk) 06:20, August 31, 2025 (EDT)

Mario is Missing! mayors in Macintosh

Hello, Mario jc. I started playing the Macintosh version of Mario is Missing! And I saw things that are completely different from the game. The mayors have sprites that resemble their CD-ROM Deluxe counterparts, but their names are different. Mayor Rudolph is the mayor of San Francisco instead of Froobnitz, and Mayor Babiak is the mayor of Moscow instead of Schmutznikov. Yet they both say the same lines as their CD-ROM Deluxe counterparts. So I want your suggestion, should the Macintosh mayors:

• be part of their DOS counterpart's articles (Mayor I.V. Gottserve and Mayor McCarthy are an exception to this rule)?
• have their own articles

You got that right on Babiak, he has the same appearance as Deluxe Schmutznikov. I looked up a video as well to save me time and they share the same appearance.

Like, there's the Italian, German and French Mario wikis, and all of them are "Powered by MediaWiki." I'd like it if there were a wiki about Mario, affiliated with this one, in the language I speak, and I'd also like it if I were the proprietor, but I don’t exactly know how to make MediaWiki wikis, only Miraheze ones. So, what I'm asking is: if there were to be a Portuguese wiki in the Mushroom World Encyclopedia, could it be hosted by Miraheze? MediaWiki is the software used to run wikis, while Miraheze is just a popular web host to put those MediaWiki sites online. While I agree that stub articles with barely any information on them is something that this wiki doesn't need (such as this), I think there should be an exception to media that barely has any information of it available, or is a stub currently but will be expanded upon once it releases. Hi there. Sorry for not going back and editing the mistakes that Google Translate made on Young Cricket's Smooth Moves blog profile. Also, I use Google Translate for all of my translations because I don't know Japanese.... like, at all. Capitalization in titles

Just because a book, VHS, DVD, or the like has certain small words capitalized in its title on its cover doesn't mean it's grammatically correct. This example isn't Super Mario–related, but I once read a book titled Werewolves Don't Go To Summer Camp on its cover, which I thought for a minute wasn't formatted correctly, but I wrote its title that way on a piece of paper. However, inside the book is a list of books in that book's series, with that book's title correctly formatted as Werewolves Don't Go to Summer Camp, making me realize that "to" in that title really isn't supposed to be capitalized in that instance. Because of this information, I believe that this wiki's articles "Super Mario Bros. 3: Misadventures In Babysitting," "Super Mario Bros. 3: Never Koop A Koopa," and "How To Draw Donkey Kong & Friends" (as well as other articles with titles formatted incorrectly) should be moved to have their titles correctly formatted, but their incorrectly formatted titles can still be mentioned on their articles as well as be redirects. Latest appearance

I did, and I don't get it: if character appears in episode 1 and 3 of a series, the latest apparition is... 1? So, I presume Pastaland doesn't have a "latest appearance" section, since it appears in an earlier episode of the same show it debuted in, but it does. It's a new volume, in a different year, btw. The KC Mario volumes were released during the intervals between the SMKun releases. We also include the DLCs for the game's appearances. Capitalization error with "Do The Frog" (should be "Do the Frog")

(I wasn't sure how to figure this out, so I wanted to be cautious and go to an admin just in case.)

Basically, when I changed some song names in List of The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 songs that were originally sourced from the Shout! Factory DVD (such as The Double Cross, Town Painting, Smelly Town, .etc), I realized recently I capitalized some songs incorrectly.

While I fixed some song titles like "It's a Dog's Life" and "When Koopas Paint the Town" (both were originally "It's A Dog's Life" and "When Koopas Paint The Town"), I didn't get to change Do The Frog to "Do the Frog" in time before it was split into an article.

I wanted to fix it by moving "Do The Frog" to its correct capitalization title (as mentioned, "Do the Frog"), but I learned I couldn't since "Do the Frog" is already a page created (currenrly a redirect page to Do The Frog as I'm writing this). Hi, so I'm back and I decided to ask here, since it is quite related to the work I have been doing. Before I fully jump into Mario and Luigi again, I wanted to ask: Should I remake the item lists from PM64, PMTTYD and SPM to be like SMRPG, PMSS, PMCS and PMTOK? The difference is that those four the items done into sections, corresponding to the respective lists+the field/given/object items and the first three has the all items in one table (because the tables were already done and I only expanded and added images, unlike with other four where there were no lists (or in PMTOK case, lists were done by someone else - in this case Zaku). Plus it would help with M+L because the work wouldn't be as complicated as it is now. If you approve of this, I think I could have rework the pages by the end of the week. Anyways, that's all.
