This kind of [[Barrel]] can only be used by the [[Kong]] whose face is pictured on the Barrel, which means that only [[Diddy Kong]] can use the Diddy Barrel and vice-versa. A Kong will instead pass through their friend's barrel should they come in contact with one. When the corresponding Kong jumps into their Barrel, they will be launched out automatically.  
A Diddy & Dixie Barrel sometimes appears at an [[End of Level Target]], and it allows the Kongs to claim a prize upon hitting a target.

Diddy & Dixie Barrels,[1] also known as Character Barrels,[2] are a type of Barrel Kannon that appears only in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. A Diddy & Dixie Barrel can be entered only by the Kong that it depicts, either Diddy Kong or Dixie Kong; by doing so, that Kong is blasted out from the Diddy & Dixie Barrel (the other Kong automatically follows them). If either Diddy or Dixie tries to enter a Diddy & Dixie Barrel that does not depict them, they pass straight through the barrel.
