Notes

Normal Enemies:

  • The Fighter Flies fought in the Bros. attack tutorial will always drop a Syrup.
  • Unlike in the original, in the remake it is actually possible to counter attack a fully sized Rex with a Jump.
  • Chuck Guys and their Elite counterparts tend to call in more Chuck Guys or Elite Chuck Guys when there is only one of them left. One will usually arrive, but occasionally, no Chuck Guys or Elite Chuck Guys will come, making the enemy lose its turn.
  • Eekers will preemptively charge up for their Eruption attack, once they've lost half of their HP.
  • Mechakoopas sometimes malfunction after being hit, reversing their attack target.
  • Ice Snifits and Clumphs which have fled the battle by catching on fire do not reward anything for defeating them.

Bosses:

  • All bosses except the tutorial battle against Bowser, the first battle against Fawful, and Wiggler enter a Fury state once they have lost half of their HP, increasing the power and the speed of all of their attacks.
    • Although not visible, Hoohooros' pillars, the Chuckolator, and the Piranha Bean also enter this state. Birdo alternatively can enter this state prematurely when defeating Popple first.
  • In the first battle against Fawful, after he loses all his HP, he loses his headgear and gains a second HP bar of 30 HP.
  • Trunkle's main HP is carried by his weak spot, which he exposes when his big form is destroyed. Alternatively, hitting the palm on his head in his big form also damages his main HP. After hitting the palm once, he starts protecting it until his big form is destroyed.
  • Birdo's eggs will break no matter how much damage was dealt to them.
  • Fawful's dome will always use his spinning orb attack after having taken eight hits of damage, independent of the damage dealt.
  • Hermie III's claws and Cackletta's body parts will only have half of their original HP after being restored.
  • Cackletta's body parts except her heart will gradually increase their attack and defense the less HP her heart has.
  • Getting Cackletta's head dizzy prevents the rest of her body parts from attacking as well.
