The Kid and the King is a Side Quest in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, located on the planet Palette Prime, specifically in Paletteville. After the heroes defeat Bedrock, one of Cursa's Spark Hunters, a Darkmess Puddle appears in Paletteville. The heroes Rabbid Luigi and Bowser must be used for the battle. After the battle is cleared, the player is awarded a Planet Coin, the Steampunk Discruptor, and the Memory for Rabbid Luigi.

The battle is always random, but Rabbid Luigi and Bowser must destroy all of the Darkmess Eyes across a somewhat large battlefield. The enemies that appear include Goombas, Medicians, Depleters and Wildclaws. Darkmess portals can appear during the battle, containing said enemies.
