Counter Blow allows Rabbid Mario to counterattack enemies who attacked him, sending a ranged punch attack at the attacker. The attack is in a line, and any enemies in front of or behind the attacker will also take the attack. Counter Blow has limited range, however, and if an enemy attacks Rabbid Mario from out of reach, Counter Blow will not occur. If Rabbid Mario has a Super Effect added to his weapon by a Spark, Counter Blow will deal more damage, and attacked enemies will take the Super Effect. Counter Blow has a cooldown of 3 turns.
Counter Blow can be upgraded in Rabbid Mario's Skill Tree, such as increasing the range and reducing the cooldown by one turn. There is an upgrade that increases the charges of Counter Blow to a maximum of three, and an upgrade that adds 50% of the attacker's damage to Counter Blow.
There is a type of Counter Blow known as "Evil Counter Blow", used by Depleters and the Giant Depleter. It allows them to attack with the Lifesteal Super Effect in a range around them, with a cooldown of two turns. Bravados also have access to a Counter Blow, simply called "Counter Blow". Whenever they are attacked by a weapon, they will immediately counter with a Gust projectile. This Counter Blow does not have a cooldown and is a passive ability.
