Midnite Library is a Darkmess Tentacle battle in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, located inside the Winter Palace on Pristine Peaks. It is the second Darkmess Tentacle battle on the planet, and is part of the main quest The Winter Palace. The heroes must defeat Midnite, one of Cursa's Spark Hunters, along with Rabbid Rosalina, who must be used for the fight. This is one of the few battle to have four heroes. Midnite has three phases for the battle, and she changes the bookshelf layout between phases. The team layout cannot be changed between phases. After the battle, Rabbid Rosalina obtains a Purified Darkmess Energy Crystal, and she joins the heroes after the battle. The Memory for Midnite is also obtained.

After clearing this battle, it can be refought again at any time from the Main Quest menu, marked by a replay icon, then selecting "Replay Battle".

Layout[edit]

The general layout consists of multiple staircases, pipes, and bookshelves that are scattered around the battlefield, and the former two lead to higher ground. The battlefield is very symmetrical, but not identical on the opposite sides.

Battle[edit]

Phase 1[edit]

Phase 1 consists of five Squashers, two Bob-ombs, and two Flamin' Stooges on higher ground. Midnite is in the center of the battlefield. Darkmess portals containing Squashers can appear. Midnite does her Exhaust ability on this phase.

After defeating Midnite, she gets gets a little bit angry, and changes the layout of the bookshelves.

Phase 2[edit]

Phase 2 consists of three Lone Wolves scattered throughout the arena, as well as four Bob-ombs close to the heroes, with two of them being on high ground. Midnite is close to the top of the battlefield, directly at the center of a staircase. Midnite now only does her empower ability.

When Midnite is defeated again, she gets mad and throws books, and she screams angrily, changing the bookshelves with force for the third phase.

Phase 3[edit]

Phase 3 consists of three Squashers, two Bob-mobs, and two Lone Wolves scattered throughout. Midnite is now at the top of the battlefield. She now does both of her abilities. Darkmess portals containing Squashers, Lone Wolves, and Flamin' Stooges can appear.

Midnite is defeated, and Edge spares her. Captain Orion is also rescued, and reunites with Rabbid Rosalina. Rabbid Rosalina also obtains the Purified Darkmess Energy Crystal, as she was the leader during the battle.
