Recruit Poplin[1] is a character in Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park. He is a red-orange Poplin (like most of the others) who aims to become a part of the Toad Brigade by helping Captain Toad track down each of the Koopalings. Uniquely among the members of the Toad Brigade, he is not a Toad himself. Before each Koopaling boss fight, he sends out a report message with the help of a Plucky as a carrier informing Captain Toad and the player of the whereabouts of the respective Koopaling. The recruit dons the same type of headlamp and backpack as Captain Toad.
