Template:Item-infobox The Bowser Suit is a recurring item in the Mario Party series. It is a full-body suit that resembles Bowser and allows the character who wears it to take on some of his traits, leaving only the character's head visible.
History
Mario Party
While not a usable item in Mario Party, the single player is dressed in a Bowser Suit in the 1-vs.-3 minigames Bash 'n' Cash and Tug o' War. In the former, the player in the Bowser Suit must avoid the other players' hammer strikes, while in the latter, it grants the player increased strength in the tug o' war match.
Mario Party 2
The Bowser Suit becomes a usable item in Mario Party 2. It is somewhat rare, as it can only be won in Item Minigames and is not available in Item Shops. When used, the player will don a Bowser Suit in a flash of light and, for that turn only, may steal 20 Coins from any player they pass, due to other players mistaking them for Bowser. If the player passes Baby Bowser during their turn, he will give them all the Coins he has collected from players throughout the current game, again mistaking them for Bowser. Other characters on the board sometimes have reactions to the Bowser Suit, but it does not affect their gameplay functions.
Mario Party 3
In Mario Party 3, the Bowser Suit reappears as a usable item with the same effects as in the previous game. It can now be purchased for 10 Coins from Baby Bowser at Item Shops, in addition to appearing in Item Minigames. Additionally, players can occasionally receive a Bowser Suit from Bowser himself after landing on a Bowser Space during the Bowser Suit Giveaway event.
Mario Party 4
In Mario Party 4, the Bowser Suit is once again a usable item. It is now very rare, as it can only be obtained during the Bowser Suit event on a Bowser Space, which has been made much more uncommon. The item's appearance has changed, now resembling a Bowser-like Mushroom instead of a mask-like object resembling Bowser's face as in previous games. The item now transforms into the suit which falls onto the player, and its effects are slightly different: the player now body-slams any opponents they pass to steal 30 Coins each from them, and additionally no longer visits most board events. This brings the item's effects more in line with the Mega Mushroom also introduced in Mario Party 4. It also has two board-specific effects: on Koopa's Seaside Soiree, the player can choose a direction manually at Ukiki's Banana Peel Junction, as the game states that "Bowser doesn't slip on banana peels". Additionally, if the player passes Bowser on Bowser's Gnarly Party, he will note that the player looks just like him and gives them 50 Coins.
Mario Party 5 and Mario Party 6
While the Bowser Suit does not appear in Mario Party 5 and Mario Party 6, the Bullet Bill Orb provides a similar function.
Mario Party 8
The Bowser Suit reappears in Mario Party 8 when a player uses the Bowser Candy, this time allowing the player to hit two Dice Blocks and granting the ability to steal two Stars from anyone they pass. It only appears in Bowser's Warped Orbit. Visually, the suit now includes its own head that goes on top of the player's.
Mario Party: The Top 100
In Mario Party: The Top 100, the Bowser Suit returns in Tug o' War, but now has the wearer's head coming out of the suit's mouth. It also appears as a usable item in the Minigame Match mode, retaining its functionality from Mario Party 8.
Official description from Mario Party: The Top 100
Bowser Suit:
Let Bowser's might flow through you as you stomp on your rivals to steal their stars.
