Spooks[1] are jar-like mushroom monsters in Wario's Woods.
History[edit]
Wario's Woods[edit]
They are less common than Spuds, Fuzzes and Squeaks. Unlike other enemies in the game, they have very limited color variation in the Family Computer version, only appearing in red and blue variants. However, they have slightly more variety in the SNES version. They take two bombs to defeat, and Toad must act quickly to throw the double bombs at them, as they only stay vulnerable after the first bomb for a limited time.
Super Mario Kodansha manga[edit]
In one skit from Uribō's chapter in Super Mario 4-koma Daikōshin, Toad is about to finish a Spook with Sprite's bomb. The Spook pleads for its life, trying to convince Toad to spare a "mushroom brother", but Toad yells at him that "not all mushrooms are the same", and blows it up.
WarioWare: Smooth Moves[edit]
In WarioWare: Smooth Moves, a Spook make a cameo appearance on the Wario's Woods cartridge, in the Super Nostalgic Entertainment System microgame.
