This article is about warp vases from Yoshi's Story. For the objects that commonly appear in Super Mario Bros. 2, see jar. For the enemy from Virtual Boy Wario Land, see Vase (enemy).

A vase, or warp vase[1], is a special jar that appears in Yoshi's Story. Vases resemble the pots from Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Island DS; however, vases serve a different function. In Yoshi's Story, vases act similar to the pipes from other installments of the Mario franchise. By jumping on top of a vase and pushing down, the Baby Yoshi will enter the vase and be transported to a different location in the level. Unlike some (but not all) pipes, vases are only one-way, as vases are not connected to other vases, but instead generate small portals that warp the Yoshi to the next area. While jumping into the vase, the Baby Yoshi will actually shrink in size, then reappear normal-sized out of the portal (which quickly dissipates) upon reaching their destination.
