They only appear in stages where Yoshi must morph into a Submarine. When Yoshi touches one, he briefly sinks to the bottom. If hit by a torpedo, Loch Nestors simply grow larger and chase Yoshi, but explode after being hit three times.

Loch Nestor derives its name from Nestor, a given name, and the Scottish lake Loch Ness, which is the home of the legendary Loch Ness Monster. The lips on the Loch Nestor are exactly the same as the ones on Piscatory Pete.
