This article is about a subject in an upcoming or recently released game. When the game is released, or more information about this subject is found, this article may need major rewriting. This notice should be removed after a month has passed since the game was first released.

The title of this article is conjectural; an official name for the article's subject has not been found, so it has been given a fitting title by the editors. If an official name is found, then the article should be moved to its appropriate title.

Template:Species-infobox Cats are major entities appearing in Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, more precisely in the addition Bowser's Fury. They can be seen on most of the various islands composing Lake Lapcat, an archipelago dedicated to them. They exist in five different colors: green, magenta, blue, black, and calico, each of them representing the different colors of the Maneki-neko (lucky cat) as well as matching the Cat form colors of the playable characters in Super Mario 3D World other than Mario (except the calico): respectively Luigi, Peach (although using a deeper shade of pink), Toad, and Rosalina.

These cats are friendly and sometimes caress Mario (only in his Cat form), or relax and groom themselves. In addition, they can be picked up and carried by Mario.[1] While they are carried, they will continuously scratch in front of them, destroying Brick Blocks and activating ? Blocks similar to Cat Mario's scratch.[2]

While Fury Bowser is active, the cats turn into dark versions of themselves. In this state, they are black with red eyes and ears, have spiked fur on their heads and backs, and have a red aura emanating from them. When Mario comes near one of them, it will dash towards him.[3]
