Cats are major entities appearing in Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, more precisely in the addition Bowser's Fury. They can be seen on most of the various islands composing Lake Lapcat, an archipelago dedicated to them. They exist in five different colors: green, magenta, blue, black, and Calico cat, each of them representing the different colors of the Maneki-neko (lucky cat) as well as matching the Cat form colors of the playable characters in Super Mario 3D World other than Mario (except the calico): respectively Luigi, Peach (although their colors are not exactly the same), Toad, and Rosalina. These cats are friendly and sometimes caress Mario, or relax and groom themselves.
