“I found a treasure chest, but it's locked! The only clue about how to open it is an ancient pirate riddle.

Rise and point the way to one another... and TREASURE!"”
Mayhem, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope

Treasure Hunter is a Spark Quest in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, specifically in the The Last Spark Hunter DLC. It is located in the Flooded Ruins on the Melodic Gardens.

In this Quest, the Spark Mayhem is unable to open a treasure chest, due to it being confused from a pirate riddle. The heroes then agree to help open the chest by powering up Beacons located around the Flooded Ruins.

FormatEdit

Powering up the BeaconsEdit

On the central island of the Flooded Ruins, the heroes can find the Spark Mayhem. Upon speaking to it, Mayhem tells the heroes that it found a treasure chest, but it is locked. Mayhem recites a pirate riddle to the heroes, which reveals that the way to open the treasure chest is to activate all five Beacons located throughout the Flooded Ruins. Beep-0 initially tells Mayhem that stealing treasure is wrong, but because Mayhem asked the heroes to help it, he agrees. The heroes then set out to the water to find the Beacons.

All of the Beacons are initially deactivated, but by using Beep-0's Wave Power they light up. Each time a Beacon is lit up, two light point in separate directions from the Beacon, showing the path to other Beacons. One of them is hidden, and must be revealed by using the Scan Power. After all five Beacons are activated, the lights on the treasure chest light up. Beep-0 then gets really into being a pirate, boldly declaring that the heroes better head back to the chest before it is stolen by mutinous buccaneers, before awkwardly realizing what he said, and says that Mayhem will be sad if that actually happened.

Opening the chestEdit

The heroes open the treasure chest, only to find a Darkmess Puddle inside of it.
JEANIE: Beep-0! This Darkmess Puddle   has thrown the Melodic Gardens   further out of balance, we must cleanse it immediately.
Mayhem: I SWEAR I didn't know! Honest, I thought it was probably a bunch of rusty fishing tackle.
Beep-0: No, no. This is my fault. I brought this on myself.”
JEANIE, Mayhem and Beep-0, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope

After the heroes get back to the treasure chest and open it, a Darkmess Puddle oozes out of the chest. JEANIE then alerts the heroes to clear it out immediately, while Mayhem is surprised about the puddle. The heroes must clear this Darkmess Puddle out in a battle.

“Oh, no! This battlefield is cursed! Must be a pirate thing. While DIRECT ATTACKS with weapons are prohibited, our Techniques, Movement abilities, and Spark Powers ARE available!”
Beep-0, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope

At the start of the battle, Beep-0 finds that it is cursed. This curse prohibits the heroes from using their weapons to directly attack anything. Movement abilities, Spark Powers, and Techniques are available though. In addition, reaction-based attacks such as Mario's Hero Sight, Luigi's Steely Stare and Edge's Stormblade are not forbidden.

The objective of the battle is to defeat all of the enemies. There are barrels containing various Super Effects scattered across the battlefield. There are also multiple Jump Panels that the heroes can use to help traverse across the battlefield. There are three various levels of elevation, with middle elevation being at the top right and middle bottom left, and the highest elevation being at the top left and bottom left. After all of the enemies are defeated, the battle is won.

Friendship is better than richesEdit

Mayhem: What an adventure! Well, a promise is a promise. I hope you have room for one more in your crew!
Beep-0: My friend, you are a pleasant reminder that it's not about glory and riches, but the friendships we make along the way. Permission to come aboard granted, MATEY!”
Mayhem and Beep-0, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope

After clearing out the Darkmess Puddle, the real treasure of the chest is revealed - three stacks of coins. This causes Beep-0 to express his disappointment in the coins, as they are found everywhere. Mayhem then excitedly joins the heroes on the adventure, and Beep-0 remembers that it is not about the glory or the riches, but about the friendships made along the way, and warmly welcomes Mayhem to the team, calling the Spark "matey" in the process.
