Variant of Spikey

Urspikes (originally named Oerlikons) are purple urchin-like enemies found in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars and its remake. They are found in Barrel Volcano. They are a color swap of Spikeys and Spikesters. They are the strongest species of Spikeys.

Their name is a portmanteau of "urchin" and "spike". Their original name likely comes from the Oerlikon 20 mm anti-aircraft gun, with the enemy's spikes blocking Mario's jumping attacks being equated to air defense in a way.
