Effect Whoever lands on the space gives their coins to the owner (Mario Party 5 and Mario Party 6). Whoever passes the space loses 10 coins (Mario Party 7)

The Spiny Capsule is an Orb that first appears in Mario Party 5, where it can be thrown to a space on the board, or used on the player for five coins. The victim is chosen by a spinner and the coins are taken from the victim to whoever used it. Anyone who lands on a space containing this capsule also gets a spinning wheel to steal coins from another opponent. In Party Mode, the victim loses 10 coins, while in Story Mode, the victim loses 5 coins. In the game Mario Party 6, it is known as the Spiny Orb. It costs five coins at the Orb Shop. The player who lands on the space containing the Orb gets attacked by Spiny Shells and loses ten coins, which are then given to the owner of that space. In the game Mario Party 7, it reappears as a Roadblock orb, meaning that simply passing by the space triggers the orb and the coins are not given to the owner, and the Hammer Bro Orb replaces its function instead. It does not work if the player is under the effect of a Metal Mushroom Orb.
