Power Grip from Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga

The Power Grip is a special equippable accessory item obtained from Starbeans Cafe from Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. When Mario and Luigi brew their fifth drink in the original game, Professor E. Gadd appears, as does every time tastes the drink and leaves behind the Power Grip. When a brother equips the Power Grip, he never drops the hammer when defending against enemy attacks.

Originally, the Power Grip was designed to be the Energy Tank, left behind by Samus Aran after she was scheduled to appear as a cameo instead of Professor E. Gadd at Starbeans Cafe. While the final item is a complete refurbishment of the Energy Tank, no unique sprite has been found for the Energy Tank.

Unlike the other special items, this item is exclusive to the original game, being replaced by the Secret Specs in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions, since the brothers can hold their hammers indefinitely while defending without dropping them in that game.
