Pam Matteson

Pam Matteson is an apparent friend and possible neighbor of Mario and Luigi in Mario Brothers Plumbing in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!.

In The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! episode "Two Plumbers and a Baby / Lost Dog", Pam Matteson, having lost her dog, Ike, decided to ask for help from Mario and Luigi in finding Ike. Bursting into Mario and Luigi's apartment, Pam Matteson, hysterical and sobbing, told Mario and Luigi of Ike's disappearance. Giving Pam Matteson his hankercheif, Luigi, after getting his hankercheif back from Pam Matteson, who had dried her tears and nose with it, told her he and Mario would help her search for Ike.

Later, as Mario searched for Ike with the periscope of Mario Brothers Plumbing, Luigi tended to Pam Matteson, who was eating some pizza, which she said was fine, but that it reminded her of Ike. After sobbing some more thinking of Ike, who Mario said he didn't see, Pam Matteson, as well as Mario, rushed to a nearby, ringing telephone, which Luigi answered. As Luigi talked on the telephone, he motioned to Pam Matteson that the called wasn't calling to say they spotted Ike, which led to Pam Matteson crying some more with Mario comforting her.

Before he finished talking on the telephone, Luigi told the caller, Reilly, that he wouldn't miss his Birdy Lovers meeting on the weekend; as Luigi finished his call, Mario, having heard Luigi's comment about the Birdy Lovers, said that if Luigi could dog call as good as he could bird call, he could help Pam Matteson find Ike much quicker. As Luigi mulled over Mario's comment about dog calling, Pam Matteson began to cry once again, saying that Ike used to call dogs all the time.

Later, Pam Matteson, having heard Luigi's plan to try and call Ike by using dog calls, asked him if he believed his plan would actually work. Reasurring Pam Matteson, Luigi quoted the book he was holding, "Hanson's Guide to Doggie Dialogue", saying that if he could replicate the noise Ike's breed of dog made, he could make Ike come running to Mario Brothers Plumbing. Before he tried to call Ike though, Luigi decided to test his dog calling, only to succeed in making the noise of a sheep and a pig instead of a dog.

Claiming that there was something wrong with his throat, Luigi began to try and clear it as Mario asked Pam Matteson what kind of dog Ike was anyway. Replieing to Mario's question, Pam Matteson told Mario that Ike was part poodle, part basin hound and a liitle bit of country and rock and roll. After learning this from Pam Matteson, Mario asked Luigi if he could call mixed dogs like Ike, to which Luigi replied that he was unsure. Deciding to call Ike anyways, Luigi made an extremely bizarre noise which, surprisingly, managed to lure Ike to Mario Brothers Plumbing.

Overjoyed at having found Ike, Pam Matteson, after picking Ike up, thanked Luigi for having helped her find him, saying that Luigi was a dog genius.
