This article is about the race course from Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, unused course in Mario Kart DS, and retro course in Mario Kart Wii. For other race tracks with similar names, see Mario Circuit.

Mario Circuit is the second race course of the Flower Cup in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!. For this installment, the circuit surrounds Princess Peach's Castle, while in the background some Warp Pipes, tall toadstools, smiling trees, and a Mushroom-shaped hot-air balloon midair can be seen, overviewing the track. A giant Chain Chomp guards a piece of rough terrain, ramming into any vehicle that passes near it. Some Piranha Plants appear, attacking the karts and bikes that pass too close to them, causing the racers to roll over and drop their items onto the road. However, they are vulnerable to being hit by some items, such as Green Shells, which leave them stunned for a while. Another obstacle is the Goombas crossing the track before the finish line, which makes the racers spin out. By using certain items against these enemies, a Mushroom pops out of them. The track also appeared at the end of the "true" credits where everyone gets to celebrate.

This is the first Mario Circuit in the series to feature Princess Peach's Castle; every Mario Circuit since has also included the castle.

Course layout

This course contains many tight corners and sharp turns, meaning that drifting is usually necessary. The course begins with a gentle left turn which is quickly followed up by a sharp right turn. After this, a tethered Chain Chomp will attempt to attack racers, although one can go behind the Chomp to avoid it. After this, racers enter a short tunnel with a few minor curves, after which is a straight road containing Piranha Plants who will attack the racers much like the Chain Chomp. After a few more sharp corners, the final stretch is a bumpy road with Goombas and then a curved bridge, followed by two more Piranha Plants before the finish line.

Mario Kart Wii

The course reappears in Mario Kart Wii as the fourth track of the Leaf Cup. Although no major changes have been made, the bumpy road and bridge before the finish line can now be tricked off of.

The tournament.

Tournaments

In Mario Kart Wii, a tournament took place on this track. It was a time trial race, with an increased number of Piranha Plants and Chain Chomps. It was the first tournament of October 2009, and it was repeated as the second tournament of July 2011, the first tournament of October 2012, and the second tournament of December 2013.

Mario Kart DS

This course was going to appear in Mario Kart DS, but was taken out before the game's release. The track was going to use three textures present in the files of the final game, these being "BeachTree1", "kuribo", and "mario_tree". There were no Goombas present toward the end of the track. It is still in the game's data however, and can be accessed by Action Replay (no textures) or ROM Hacking (with textures).[1]
