Nancy Blair Griffin - Media Lab, Studio LA
Nancy Blair Griffin - Media Lab, Studio LA[sic][1] is a test video for Donkey Kong's model in the Donkey Kong Country television series, where he has a conversation with Nancy Blair Griffin, a former employee of Medialab.
Plot synopsis[edit]
Donkey Kong, who speaks with a distinctive feminine, Texan accent, greets Nancy while holding a banana phone. Before sitting down, he makes the phone disappear in the form of a magic trick.
DK begins conversation by telling Nancy he had heard she has two sons, Steven and Christopher, which she confirms. DK promptly asks if the boys like monkeys and apes, adding in jest that he considers himself one of the greatest and most modest apes, which Nancy finds humorous. Nancy confirms that they do. Nancy mentions that Steven's sixth birthday is coming up in February, making him the same age as Christopher. Nancy mentions that Christopher and Steven are close friends, to which DK responds by stating that he wishes he had an older brother.
When asked by DK what they like to play, Nancy explains that her sons enjoy playing with action figures and that they like Tommy Pickles from Rugrats (which Nancy and Donkey Kong refer to as "The Rugrats"). DK then asks if Tommy is a human being, to which Nancy clarifies that he's an animated human, prompting Donkey Kong to ask if the boys enjoy animated animals, and Nancy confirms that they do, leading DK to compliment them. She also adds that her sons enjoy drawing.
DK asks Nancy if she can scratch his back, and she complies. He then compliments her, stating that she would make a good veterinarian because she "has a way with animals", and that her husband is lucky to be married to someone so good at scratching backs.
DK thanks Nancy for coming and wishes her sons a happy birthday. Nancy reveals that Steven was born on leap day and will be celebrating his birthday early, and that if his age only increased on leap years he would be two. They bid each other farewell, and Donkey Kong leaves.
