Located in the southern end of the Northern Kremisphere, Funky's Rentals is one of the first stops that Dixie Kong will make on her journey, as she will need a way to reach Lake Orangatanga. When Dixie first stops in at Funky's Rentals, Funky will agree to let her borrow his Motor Boat, in exchange for babysitting Kiddy, whom he will dump in her lap.
Funky's Rentals has a dropdown menu on a paper scroll at around the top-left corner of the screen. It gives the player either the option to select a vehicle to use on the Northern Kremisphere world map or exiting from the left without renting one. By default, the Motor Boat is the only vehicle available from the menu, but few more can added after the Kongs obtain an essential item for each vehicle from completing some of the worlds.

After defeating Arich in Kremwood Forest, the giant spider will drop a Patch. If Kongs bring the Patch to Funky, he can use it to patch up his Hover Craft, and let the Kongs use it to explore more areas of the Northern Kremisphere, for it is capable of driving over rocks.
Funky can only build his second vehicle, the Hover Craft, after the Kongs acquire the patch. His third vehicle, the Turbo Ski, can only be constructed after Dixie and Kiddy obtain both skis. Lastly, if the Kongs manage to collect every DK Coin, Funky will construct his final vehicle, the Gyrocopter.

Once the Kongs beat the bosses of Cotton-Top Cove and Mekanos, they'll acquire two Skis, one from each boss. By bringing these skis to Funky, he will use them to build the Turbo Ski, which can travel up waterfalls.
In the Game Boy Advance remake, Funky also houses a caged Banana Bird. In order for the Kongs to earn it, they must complete Funky's four new minigame challenges, in order: "Destroy", "Disarm", "Protect", and "Race". The first challenge is available by default, but the other three become available for each new vehicle that Funky constructs. The location interior was redesigned to look less cluttered, and the menu no longer appears from a paper scroll. The vehicle list was condensed into the "Hire boat" option, in which the player can move the Kongs to select from the available docked boats.

If the Kongs manage to collect all forty-one DK Coins in the game, Funky will build his Gyrocopter, which the Kongs must use in order to rescue three Banana Birds that are otherwise inaccessible.

Funky's Rentals, also called the Rental Shop,[1] is a rental garage owned by Funky Kong on the Northern Kremisphere world map in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!. It is where he builds his own watercraft, and leases them to Dixie and Kiddy Kong free of charge. It serves as the successor to Funky's Flights and Funky's Flights II from the previous two installments.

Overview[edit]

Funky's Rentals in the Game Boy Advance remake of Donkey Kong Country 3
The redesigned location in the Game Boy Advance remake

Located in the southern end of the Northern Kremisphere, Funky's Rentals is the first stop that Dixie makes on her journey, as she needs a way to reach Lake Orangatanga. When Dixie first stops in at Funky's Rentals, Funky agrees to let her borrow his Motor Boat, and gives her Kiddy Kong to babysit.
