Artwork of a pot cannon

Pot cannons[1] are objects seen in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars and its remake. They have eyes that serve only for decorative purposes.

A pot cannon from Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars

Mario can enter a pot cannon just as he would a pipe (by jumping onto it and pressing "Down"). After Mario is loaded in the pot cannon, it starts moving in three directions (forward, backward, and upward), clicking as it moves. By jumping while inside the pot cannon, Mario can launch himself forward. If he times his jump perfectly with the click, he can blast himself farther than usual.

Pot cannons are primarily used in Land's End.
