A Pointy Tucks (also called Pointy Tuck) is a variant of Tucks appearing in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and its Nintendo Switch port. They are penguin members of the Snowmads that wear a golden stereotypical Viking helmet. In addition, they wear a leather collar with the Snowmad symbol. Compared to regular Tucks, Pointy Tucks appear to have a less crooked posture and are shorter.

Pointy Tucks have a shielded variant known as Trench Tucks. Papa Painguins are Painguin Tuckses sporting the same helmets, protecting them in the same way.

History[edit]

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze[edit]

In the game's intro, a Pointy Tucks spots Donkey Kong Island through a telescope. After inspecting it more closely and finding Donkey Kong's hut, the Tucks immediately reports its findings to Lord Fredrik.

Pointy Tucks are common enemies throughout the Kongs' adventure. They simply walk from side to side, as with a handful of other enemies. Pointy Tucks cannot be jumped on, as their helmets protect them from being jumped on and cause the Kongs to take damage. The Kongs can defeat a Pointy Tucks by attacking it with a roll, Rambi, Cranky Kong's Cane Bounce, or an object such as a barrel. The enemy can be stunned briefly by shooting it with a popgun or by performing a Ground Pound next to it.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U[edit]

A Pointy Tucks, referred to as a "Pointy Tuck" in North American English, is depicted as a Donkey Kong series trophy in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. The trophy's North American description suggests that Pointy Tucks charge with spears, although this is specifically a characteristic of the Papa Painguins, which wear the same helmet but have a belt instead of a collar and are visibly more stout and hunched.
