The Big Scuttlebug is a mini-boss appearing in Paper Mario: Sticker Star. It is encountered in Rustle Burrow and blocks the door that leads to Kersti after Mario loses her, along with his Hammer and most of his stickers, during the drop into the level.

When Mario tries to pass through the door, the Big Scuttlebug suddenly appears from the ceiling, starting the battle. The battle starts off with the Big Scuttlebug going onto a web. Using a jump attack on the web will make Mario get caught in it (unless one is used on the fourth turn, which will break the web), making him vulnerable to the Big Scuttlebug's crumpling attack. The web is also vulnerable to projectile attacks, such as those of the Fire Flower and Ice Flower sticker. After the Big Scuttlebug is off its web, it attacks like a normal Scuttlebug. Once it has been defeated, Mario can gain access to the room where Kersti is being held. If Mario does not defeat Big Scuttlebug in four turns after he breaks the web, it will create another web requiring four new attacks to be broken.

If Mario flees from the battle, the Big Scuttlebug will remain hanging, blocking the door.

Although not considered Big Scuttlebug, giant Scuttle Bugs appear in Mario Party 7 in the minigame Spider Stomp. They are fought at the end of the minigame. They attack players by shooting three webs at them and can charge at the players. After this Scuttle Bug is defeated, the player's team can find Flutter before the other team does.
