"Blue Skies, White Clouds"[1] is a upbeat musical theme in Paper Mario: Sticker Star, where it plays throughout most aboveground areas of World 1 as well as the first area of both Drybake Desert and Leaflitter Path.

It is a cheerful arrangement of Ground BGM from Super Mario Bros. featuring accordion and xylophone instrumentation

History[edit]

Paper Mario: Sticker Star[edit]

Paper Mario: Sticker Star marks the first appearance of Blue Skies, White Clouds.

Additionally, the games' battle theme quotes the main chord progression with similar instrumentation.

An arrangement by Saki Kasuga of the theme titled "Paper Mario Medley"[2] appears in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS. This theme also includes two other themes from the Paper Mario series. Namely Rogueport (theme) from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, and "Battleship" from Paper Mario: Sticker Star. When the theme is played on the Paper Mario stage, the three themes will change dynamically with the stage; "Blue Skies, White Clouds" plays on the part based on Hither Thither Hill.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U[edit]

In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, the original version of "Paper Mario Medley" can play in the Woolly World stage.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the original version of "Paper Mario Medley" can play in any Super Smash Bros.-series and Super Mario-series stage. As in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, the themes will dynamically change with the Paper Mario stage if it is played on it.
