"Frog Feats" is an unaired episode of The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3, featured in the writer's bible of the show.[1]
Plot synopsis[edit]
After an underwater rescue requiring Mario to wear a Frog Suit, he finds himself unable to take it off. Mario is unaware that it is plot by King Koopa, who has cast a spell on his Frog Suit that prevents him from removing it from his body to keep him and his friends distracted while he and the Koopalings steal the Sultan of Desert Land's magic carpet.
Princess Toadstool suggests that she and her friends find the "Mushroom Wizard," who has the power to solve Mario's problem. Mario agrees, and he hops off with his friends to find the wizard. However, the Mushroom Wizard has forgotten how to cure frog spells and, instead of turning Mario back into his normal self, he puts Luigi, the Princess, and Toad in Frog Suits as well.
Mario and his friends hear about Koopa's plot in Desert Land from the Sultan's messenger, who begs for their help. The four heroes decide to help, but their Frog suited forms are effectively useless in the dry and sandy desert.
It appears that Koopa has finally succeeded, until the Princess decides that they should turn their weakness into strength. Mario and Luigi dive into an oasis and connect its plumbing to an aquifer to create a flood. With their now-valuable Frog powers, the Mario Bros. fight Koopa and his Koopalings and ultimately manage to defeat them. The episode ends with the wizard arriving with the news that he has finally remembered how to remove their Frog Suits and removing the Frog Suits from Mario and his friends.
