classic collection is a non-interactive tech demo for the Nintendo 3DS that was available at E3 2010. The demo features a series of dioramas in stereoscopic 3D based on games for the Nintendo Entertainment System and the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Each game featured has a five-minute time limit. Five of the 18 games featured in the demo would be released under the 3D Classics line of games.[1][2]:9:56

Details[edit]

At any time, the player can press A Button to proceed to the next demo or B Button to go back to the preceding demo. The first game featured is Mario Bros. The demo depicts the duration of a phase, which seems to consist entirely of Shellcreepers. Following this is a demo of Tennis, which depicts a match against a computer-controlled player. Following this is a demo of Super Mario Bros., which begins in World 1-1. The next game related to the Super Mario franchise to be featured is the seventh, which depicts a match in Punch-Out!! against Bald Bull. The ninth game is the next to be Super Mario–related, as it is a demo of NES Open Tournament Golf. The demo appears to take place on the fourteenth hole of the game's Japan Course. This is the final Nintendo Entertainment System game featured to be Super Mario–related.

The eleventh game featured is a demo of Super Mario World, which begins in the game's first world. A demo of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island—which follows a demo of Smash Ping Pong—is also featured, and it is the final Super Mario demo to be part of the game.
