Concorso Super Mario Leolandia was a cross-promotional event held by Nintendo and Leolandia in August of 2017.[1] The event was themed after Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS. The event ran from August 1, 2017 to August 31, 2017.[1] In addition to the event, a contest was also held that allowed participants to win a Nintendo 2DS XL and a copy of Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS.

Details[edit]

During the event, a person in a Mario costume was in the Cowboy Town section of Leolandia to take pictures with fans. "Several elements" themed after the series were also advertised as being available, presumably on a backdrop. This portion of the event took place every weekend in the month of August.[1] A "Gaming Arena" for older visitors was also available, which had multiple Nintendo 2DS XL consoles with copies of Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS available to play. The area also featured live commentary.[1] Participants were able to challenge each other in-game.

Additionally, a contest was held in which participants were able to win one of four Nintendo 2DS XL consoles and one of four copies of Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS. To enter the contest, one had to fill out a participation form, answering the provided questions and providing the code on the back of their Leolandia ticket they used for entry during the event.
