Fiestaventura Nintendo[2] (originally referred to simply as Fiestaventuras[1]) was an event held by Nintendo of Mexico from 1998 to 1999. For the event, one could have a Nintendo-themed birthday party, with Nintendo providing gifts and activities. To request this event, participants were to send an email to fiestaventuras@nintendo.com.mx or call 566-36-26. For the 1999 iteration, the person whose birthday it was had to be turning an age between four and 16. Even though the event was not solely themed after the Super Mario franchise, both the event's original webpage[1] and an advertisement for the event in the Club Nintendo magazine[3] predominantly use Super Mario-related imagery.

Details[edit]

In 1998, a Fiestaventura Nintendo would include "Fiesta Torneo", a competition with "expert video game players". Arcade machines were provided at events, and awards were given out after the competition.[1] "Buildable scenery" made of Brick Blocks and Warp Pipes was also available. Based on a photo of this obstacle course, it seems that a Nintendo employee would have led the group through the course. Cakes and a Mario-themed piñata were also available, as well as a special gift for the person whose birthday it was.[1]

In 1999, the event was largely the same, though one portion was slightly different; participants could compete in tournaments, and share "tips, tricks, and secrets" with expert gamers, and play "tournament titles" for the Nintendo 64.[2]
