Gunyolk was a large mechanical monstrosity created by the Factory Chief, one of the most important members of the Smithy Gang. The mechanical creature was used as a weapon in an attempt by the Factory Chief to destroy Mario and his allies. In fact, Gunyolk and the Factory Chief were the only things that were standing between Mario's group and the leader of the Smithy Gang himself, Smithy. Engaging the group in combat Gun Yolk proved to be a worthy adversary, knowing a large abundance of attacks and capable of using the powerful Breaker Beam attack. After a long battle Mario and company managed to beat the large machine monster and its master.

Gunyolk is a large mechanical monster created by the Factory Chief and appears in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. Gunyolk and the Factory Chief are the last enemies that are encountered before Smithy. It resembles a heavily armored combination of a locomotive and a tank with a large vat of molten metal in the back.

Battle[edit]

Gunyolk uses the Breaker Beam every 2nd turn, which was previously used by the Axem Rangers; unlike them, however, Gunyolk does not need recharge after using it. On odd-numbered turns, Gunyolk chooses from a pair of attack pools. The first has a 33% chance of using Echofinder, which hits one character for 1.5x the damage of its normal attack and inflicts Mute, and uses a normal attack otherwise; the second pool has a 66% chance of using the Fire-attribute Fire Saber to inflict moderate magic damage, and a 33% chance of using the Thunder-attribute Electroshock, which can inflict even more magic damage.

Gunyolk has no resistance to status ailments. Gunyolk is additionally weak to Ice and Thunder.

A palette swap of Gunyolk exists that is unused in the game. It normally only attacks, but will use Lightning Orb every six turns.
