Template:Worldbox Mekanos is the name of one of the Northern Kremisphere's many areas ventured through in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble.

Mekanos is a island filled with large factories and pipelines. Bramble Bear tells Dixie Kong and Kiddy Kong that Mekanos was once a beautiful island filled with plant and animal life, but once the Kremling Krew invaded the Northern Kremisphere all that beauty was destroyed by polluting machines and factories. It is similar to Kremkroc Industries, Inc. in the fact that it's a heavily polluted industrial area, but considering it's location in the Northern Kremisphere, it's more liquid/forest based, with many warehouses and pipelines and a logging area included instead of mines and what may be steel factories.

When the Kongs ventured to Mekanos they had to travel through the islands many warehouses, sled through a drainage pipe system, travel through what was left of Mekanos's giant trees, while they were being cut down, and go through another pipe system, seeming to be a gas pipeline, with drastically reduced gravity. After traveling through all this the Kongs had to face the Kremling Krew's new master, KAOS, in a scary-looking Krem Co. factory.

Bazooka Bear is found on Mekanos, the Kongs require his assistance, and a Bowling Ball to find Mekanos's Banana Bird Cave, which was elevated by a large claw for an unknown reason.

After KAOS is defeated all of Mekanos's factories are shut down, and the pollution from the air ducts finally ends. Bramble Bear hopes that this will one day cause all the plant and animal life will return to Mekanos.

Mekanos is the only area the owl-like enemy Karbine can be found in. This may mean they were once an exclusive animal species living there that were all taken in by the Kremlings during the takeover of Mekanos.
